YALSA’s “The Future of Library Services for and with Teens: a Call to Action” report captures findings from the 2013 meeting about how youth-serving groups, community organizations and libraries can team up to help the nation’s teens succeed in school and prepare for careers. The report is available as a free download.

At that time YALSA also started talking about how to help library staff working for and with teens to develop programs and services that align with the recommendations in that report. YALSA would love to see a higher response of members indicating they are “very familiar” with the Future’s Report for the next survey but at this time this is a success being “somewhat familiar”. Please share your successes with incorporating recommendations from the Future’s Report in your library in the comment box with this post. Now is the time to explore the future of library services to teens and to reaffirm the right of all youth to have access to the unique expertise and services that school and public libraries can provide for young adults.
